GRACE IN THE GRAY AREAS: 100 steps to grace for 2011

GRACE IN THE GRAY AREAS: 100 steps to grace for 2011

Chris Foster offers a list of 100 steps to grace. For any of us seeking a path, here is a way to create your own way.
What if you or I embarked on all 100 of these steps, one step at a time?
Has anyone done this?
How long would it take?  Does it matter?
How would my path change? Would your path cross mine?

  1. The obvious answer is 'listening to the roar of the sea,' as hinted by Pat's head upon that seafaring creature of hers!

The creature drifts in its own time unawre that grace is something which requires steps at all. How nice that both of you seem to have found that moment, at least once - which is really all that is needed. Moments of grace cannot be undone, can they? That one can be checked off then.

Seeking is the wonderful part. It's the journey, not the catch which most matters. The seek will definitely result in a few captures, with resulting joy. Then there is always the next. Always the next. Foster's list (including my favorite of maidens on shell, hearing steady though random liquiroar) is nothing more than one person's list. Seeking to create one's own list is how the best of stories are told.

So in honor of listed steps:

    1. If the 100 steps were embarked upon, many nice things would be found. Other paths would permute, all of which are better than the 100 of the list.
    2. Not me. But now I'm thinking about it.
    3. It does not stop, ever. The listed and unlisted are done; ripples are left. Children of children follow, drift, wander, seek, and create ripples for other children of children.
    4. Good questions.

Goodness! Thank you for pointing me to some beautiful notions of Mr. Foster, Ms. SassySweetSixty. What's next on the list?
